Tilt and Turn Windows

  • Not sure which windows you need? No problem, we have the solution. Our tilt and turn range is sure to add an extra touch of style to your home – enhancing its character and brings the outdoors nearer.

There’s nothing else out there like tilt and turn windows. That’s because they open in one of two ways. By pushing the lower portion of the window away from the frame, you can make it tilt. This is great news, as it allows you to invite cooling breezes into your property – but, due to the angle, no rain can come in.

A tilt and turn window can also be opened inwards using hinges at the side. Again, this has the added benefit of letting in passing breezes, ventilating your home and helping to prevent damp issues. Double glazing like this requires minimal maintenance.

How secure are tilt and turn windows?

Naturally, security will be one of your first concerns when choosing double glazing for your home. You want to be sure your newly-installed windows are fitted with the best and latest locking mechanisms and hardware.

Fortunately, our tilt and turn windows have been engineered to withstand heavy blows and come equipped with a locking system that meets Secured By Design standards, which have been set by the UK Police Force.

You’ll feel safer in your home once our expert installation team has installed your new double glazing. They’ll also show you how to lock and use your tilt and turn windows – so that you can enjoy better peace of mind.

How do I use tilt and turn windows?

There are two ways to use them. The method you choose will depend on how much ventilation you want in your home. If you tilt your window, a slight breeze will be able to enter – while preventing the ingress of rain. This will also prevent intruders from accessing your home – allowing you to feel more relaxed.

Wind will be kept at bay too, thanks to the angle of your window. On balmy summer days and nights, use the side hinge, which opens inward (like a conventional door) to let in refreshing breezes (this effect will be amplified if you have two tilt and turn windows in your room).

Do tilt and turn windows open outwards and inwards?

Yes, they operate in both directions, but the method is different in each case. One mechanism (the tilt) facilitates outward movement, allowing a small amount of air into your home – while keeping the rain at bay. Prefer more air? That’s easily solved. Just use the side hinge (the turn) to open your window inwards. As you can see, you’ll have total control over your windows.

Is there a maximum size for tilt and turn windows?

This is entirely up to you. We can design and manufacture to order for you at our state-of-the-art factory. That way, we can ensure your windows fit the space in your home exactly as you’d like.

From floor-to-ceiling windows through to small bathroom windows, we can tailor a solution to your precise requirements. Need something practical for a room on a ground floor? Then a stylish patio door might be a better option.

How do I use my tilt and turn windows?

This style of double glazing can open in two directions. You will see that there’s a hinge on the top or bottom (depending on which works better for you) that permits the window to outwardly tilt.

Additional hinges are located to the side and allow the window to open internally. This means you’ll have total control. Not only that, you’ll benefit from tilt and turn windows built to the highest standard – meaning they’ll continue to look and act as new for many years to come.

What are the benefits of tilt and turn windows?

This style of window is popular for a reason. People love being able to control the ventilation in their property. Depending on the weather, or what you’re doing, you can choose the appropriate setting – making tilt and turn windows the perfect choice for all seasons.

Why not enquire now by calling our friendly team – we can talk you through the different design options and help you make the right choice.
