    Replacement polycarbonate conservatory roof

Contemporary and well insulated, the multi-chambered design of a polycarbonate roof makes it a popular choice with homeowners UK-wide. If you want your conservatory to behave like a room for all seasons, then this could be your go-to solution.

    Replacement glass conservatory roof

High-performance glass is extremely effective. In fact, it can reflect an impressive 78% of solar rays, while delivering a much lower U-value. A score of 0.8 is achievable, depending on which glazing option you choose. Either way, your conservatory will be the perfect temperature, whatever time of year it is.

Self-cleaning glass that saves you time

Keeping your conservatory roof clean throughout the year couldn’t be easier with self-cleaning glass. A fine coating of titanium dioxide stops dirt adhering to the glass, causing it to wash away when it rains. This glazing option won’t just save you time, it’ll reduce your overheads as you won’t have to pay for a window cleaner.

What if it doesn’t rain? Don’t worry. You can simply hose down your roof and wash the dirt away.

Full or partially tiled conservatory roofs

Tiled conservatory roofs are lightweight in construction. This means they place less pressure on the foundations and frames, avoiding structural complications. Our systems are made by Ultraframe: the market-leading manufacturer of conservatory roof systems. Their Livinroof system allows customers to choose which panels to glaze, controlling how much light and heat is retained.

Can I replace my conservatory roof with a tiled roof?

If your existing roof is glass or polycarbonate and is no longer performing, replacing it with a tiled one could make a difference. A tiled replacement conservatory roof weighs very little compared to other systems, which means the foundations and frames of your structure should be able to comfortably withstand its weight.

Rest assured, we would conduct tests prior to commencing work. But, in most cases, there is no issue. Provided your conservatory complies with existing building regulations, you won’t need to apply for planning consent either.

Tiles can be cut to your desired size and roof windows can be added if you don’t want to cut out the glass.

Do I need to replace my conservatory roof?

A replacement conservatory roof may be required if your system is 15 years or older. It’s important to look for tell-tale signs of deterioration, which will serve as early warnings that it’s time to change things up.

Look out for:

  • Cold spots or draughts in your room
  • A reduction in energy efficiency
  • Algae or moss on the roof
  • More noise pollution

If you notice one or more of these symptoms, contact our expert team to discuss your replacement conservatory roof options.

Does insulating a conservatory roof work?

In some cases, it might. If you’re certain your roof isn’t retaining heat effectively, insulating it is an option. It’s not a service we offer, because it isn’t efficient and offers no long-term benefits.

A replacement glass conservatory roof or tiled equivalent would be the better option. Ours include a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty for your peace of mind.

What is the best roof for a conservatory?

Changes in technology have led to a more competitive market which offers more choice to consumers. This is good news if you’re looking to upgrade your conservatory to modern standards.

Polycarbonate

If cost is your first concern, polycarbonate is the cheapest. But it won’t last as long as other systems.

Glass

A toughened glass roof installed by our expert team would be better, due to its sheer durability. The glass can be affected to improve its insulative capabilities and minimise solar glare.

Tiled

To enjoy more shade, consider a tiled replacement conservatory roof, which will deliver better thermal efficiency.

Lantern

Want more light? Then a lantern roof or roof windows will flush your room through with sunshine and make it seem bigger.
