Lantern Roof Conservatories
Make a bold statement with a lantern roof that exudes total elegance and has a stately feel. Our lantern roof conservatories offer a contemporary and practical way to create additional space within your home.
In terms of appearance, this roof style resembles a wedding cake, in that it reveals a two-tier effect that spans two levels. The end effect is transfixing and transformative. If you want your home to stand out from the crowd, our lantern roof is a must-have.
The traditional appearance of a lantern roof conservatory means it’s well-suited to Edwardian and Victorian properties. However, it can be tailored to suit contemporary tastes. We will explain the options available, allowing you to make a more informed choice that suits the character of your home.
10-year manufacturer’s guarantee.
Classic windows tailor made to your exact specifications.
A Lantern Roof conservatory uses fewer bars to let in even more light. With an extended eaves beam, rather than a flat roof, the internal pelmet and external cornice create a stunning orangery roof style.
A decorative cornice is used outside to hide the guttering and create beautiful sight lines.
The internal insulated pelmet will enable you to enjoy better lighting and thermal performance. You can even opt for integrated spotlights and speakers to enhance your experience.

Fill your conservatory with lots of light
Light helps create a better sense of space and a positive atmosphere. Even during gloomy weather, a lantern roof will invite in lots of light, making the space below it feel open and roomy.

So you won’t have to worry about your new structure falling foul of the British weather. Instead, you’ll be able to enjoy an energy-efficient room for many years to come.

What is a lantern conservatory?
It is rectangular and consists of glass panes situated centrally. These panes are pitched to mimic the appearance of a roof. It can be used as part of a conservatory design or added to an existing room in your home provided the roof above it is flat.
To improve external appearance, why not add a decorative cornice. This will hide your guttering from view. It’s also bound to add kerb appeal to your home and brighten it up — even on dreary winter mornings!

Do roof lanterns let in more light?
If you want to maximise light penetration into your conservatory, you won’t be disappointed. No matter what the British weather is doing, you won’t find yourself reaching for the light switch until the sun starts to sink below the horizon.
You may be surprised to learn that this roof system allows three times more light in than a standard window (this will depend on the size of your installation). Because we offer different light options, you won’t need to worry about harmful UV lights fading your fabrics or issues caused by glare.
Do roof lanterns lose heat?
You might lose a bit more heat compared to, say, a tiled roof with insulation. But by adding thermally efficient glass, you can offset this slight discrepancy. For example, we could fit triple-glazing in your roof lantern, which would be of great benefit during those chillier autumn and winter months.
Our systems can include internally insulated pelmets, which are filled with insulation and keep heat loss to an absolute minimum. Not only that, you’ll be able to enjoy a light-filled room all year round.
What about cleaning my lantern roof?
To make cleaning your roof as easy as possible, use a handle with a sponge attached to the end and cover the area with warm soapy water. This should successfully dislodge any dirt or debris that has accumulated.
If you’d prefer not to clean your new roof, talk to us about self-cleaning glass. This burns off grime and other deposits, which then run away when it rains. Alternatively, you can hose the area down.
