Keen to prevent excessive and expensive heat loss in your home? Our double glazing will help you save money on your energy bills while also reducing noise penetration into your personal space. If you live in a busy area, you’re sure to notice a difference.
Double glazing comprises two separate glass panels that sit within one frame. There is a gap between these panes which is filled with a gas called Argon. Argon is heavier than air and works to insulate your home. The Argon slows down the cold air outside from entering your home via the internal pane, which virtually stops condensation forming – a common problem found with single glazing.
Each of our double glazed windows delivers fantastic energy saving ratings. Even better than that, we can install Super Energy Efficient triple glazing. If you want to reduce the size of your energy bills, take a closer look at this product which is sure to reduce your heating costs and enhance the value of your property.
Once installed, double glazing will make your home more secure. This will be due to the toughened glass panels that are hard to damage, and the characteristically thicker frames. We also include high-security hinges for your further reassurance.

Should I replace my double glazing?
Expect your units to have a lifespan of between 20-30 years. Over time, your units will lose their efficiency. As a result, your home will become less thermally efficient and you should think about replacing your current windows.
If you decide to replace your old windows with our thermally-efficient double glazing, then your home will be draught-proof, warmer, cheaper to heat and more secure.
Will double glazing reduce condensation?
Yes, it will. It’s the act of warm air striking a cool pane of glass that causes condensation to form. With single glazing, the contrast between the air inside your home and the cold pane of glass is stark, which is why you’ll wake up in the morning and find a window covered in droplets.
Double glazing comprises two panes that are set apart and pumped full of a naturally occurring gas called argon. This gas works to block heat transfer from one pane to the other. This means the inner panes will be much warmer than the outer one, resulting in less condensation.
What exactly is double glazing?
It is different to single glazing because it features two glass panes, rather than a single one. These panes are divided and filled with a dense gas called argon. Prior to adding this gas, the area is deprived of atmospheric air. Due to its density, argon prevents heat migrating from pane to pane, resulting in better thermal insulation (so your home will be cosier and more cost-effective to run).
In the longer term, your energy bills will shrink. Your property will feel warmer throughout and you can use the money you saved for other essential home improvements – or perhaps that holiday you’ve been putting off.
What gap is best for double glazing?
It’s the gap between the panes that make double glazing so effective at insulating and blocking out noise. We fill that interior space with a gas called argon, which stops cold air dead in its tracks and reduces noise transference through the panes too.
In our experience, we’ve found a 28mm gap situated between the glass layers to be the most effective option. That’s why we offer this option to our customers as standard. Our energy-efficient products are designed to drive down your heating costs and help the environment at the same time.
Will double glazing make my home quieter?
Sound waves can move through glass without too much trouble. Our double glazing solves this problem by using two panes of glass filled with argon gas to minimise noise penetration into your home.
Argon is a lot heavier than standard air. It also handles soundwaves differently. Noise can’t travel well through to it and dampen in the attempt. If you live in an extremely loud area and you’re craving some real peace and quiet, you can opt for our Stadip Silence laminated windows, which give you excellent sound insulation without having to resort to thick glass and chunky window frames.
What’s the lifespan of double glazing?
How long it lasts will depend on many variables. In general, expect your units to work to optimal efficiency for 20-30 years. To increase the longevity of your windows, make sure you appoint trusted installers to fit your windows and carry out some basic maintenance on them every now and again.
It’s easy to tell if your windows are compromised, as the inner pane will feel cold to the touch, or you might notice draughts coming through the frame.
