Frequently Asked Questions
Are aluminium bifolds better than uPVC?
Both aluminium and uPVC bifold doors can provide good thermal efficiency, security and low-maintenance performance. Aluminium bifolds offer slimmer sightlines and greater structural strength, making them particularly suitable for larger openings and larger panes of glass. uPVC bifolds can be a more cost-effective option for smaller openings. The best choice depends on your property’s requirements, budget and preferred appearance.
How long do aluminium bifold doors last?
High-quality aluminium bifold doors can provide decades of service, with some systems expected to last around 30–40 years or more when properly installed and maintained. Aluminium is resistant to warping and weather-related deterioration, while routine cleaning and occasional maintenance of the tracks and hardware can help keep the doors operating smoothly.
Do bifold doors add value to a house?
Bifold doors can make a property more appealing by creating a strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, increasing natural light and providing a wide opening onto a garden or patio. However, there is no guaranteed increase in property value, as the impact will depend on factors such as the property, local market and quality of the installation.
What guarantee comes with your aluminium windows?
We offer a 10-year guarantee on all our products, giving you peace of mind that your new installation is covered for years to come. This includes our AluK aluminium bifold doors, ensuring you can enjoy your new products with confidence.
Happy Customers
Patricia Maynard
We used this company for replacement doors a few years ago and have now used them to replace some windows. Excellent company with very friendly staff. So happy with the the new windows and were kept informed every step along the way. Thank you 😊
Karen Smith
Very pleased with the whole process. Team were professional and friendly and the team that did the installations were great and did an amazing job, we have a lot of stuff and they took everything in their stride. Love the quality of windows and doors which were much better than the ones they replaced.
Nick Davis
Excellent, very, very pleased. The guys that came to fit my window were pleasant, competent and cleared up all the inevitable mess afterwards. They even put a cloth down to protect the carpets. Highly recommended.

We used New Windows for replacing a few windows and doors for my elderly Mum’s property. We have been repeat customers due to this company’s friendly staff, quality of the windows and workmanship and friendliness of the window fitters (who were great with my Mum). We would definitely recommend New Windows.
